Flood Update May 3, 2014

I am asking the Body of Christ to do the following:

  • Pray for families who are confused by the whole process of recovering from a disaster.
  • Pray for children who have been deeply affected by the flood.
  • Pray for adequate and affordable housing in Kokomo.
  • Pray for Community Leaders.
  • Don't enter into to gossip about the negative things you may be hearing.
  • Drive by or walk by homes and pray a blessing on each family.
  • Ask yourself what can I sacrifice for someone else?
  • Thank God for all that you have.

Thank you for all  you are doing.  Thank you for being the CHURCH outside the walls.

We could use volunteers at the Recovery Center
Mon-Fri 10 AM-6 PM

We not only need people to sort and set out items.  We need people who will listen to stories of flood victims, care for them and if they desire pray for them.

If you hear complaints from folks who have been affected by the flood please respond, by reminding them that every one is doing their best and have the same goal to help rebuild families.

Prayer in action is love, and love in action is service. Try to give unconditionally whatever a person needs in the moment. The point is to do something, however small, and show you care through your actions by giving your time … We are all God’s children so it is important to share His gifts. Do not worry about why problems exist in the world – just respond to people’s needs … We feel what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean, but that ocean would be less without that drop.“- Mother Teresa

Thank you CHURCH for following Matthew 6:1-4. It's not about us it is about Jesus and others.

“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.  So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.  But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,  so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you".- Jesus (Matthew 6:1-4)
